MARIETTE C. – BREAST CANCER

Mariette C. - Bodies of Courage Bodypainted Cancer Survivors

I am 86 years old. My husband and I had no money.
I had a radical mastectomy and lost my left breast. The operation went very well.
The doctor said that my cancer was the size of a plum and that I had had it for a year.
I never felt anything to indicate that I was not well.

There were a few more visits required before I should end my visits, but the doctor wanted more money so I did not get them.

As for Chemotherapy and radiation, in 1975, it did not exist, but I would not have been able to afford them.
The first hospital brought me to court.
I told the Judge the adversity of this cancer and he told me to go home.
I had been under stress for many years and I sincerely believe now, that it was the cause of my cancer.
I read fifteen years later that I would have five years to life. Ha, ha, ha.

Indeed I see the mercy of the Lord and I am so very grateful for all He does for me.
Yesterday, at a September 26, 2009 conference I found some not as fortunate as me.
My heart goes out to them and I pray for them. I am poor in money but so very rich in health.

I am surrounded by such beautiful people and now “CANCER SURVIVORS”
